Holy Crafts Batman!!

I’m sitting here drinking my coffee with my delicious pepperminty creamer (peppermint is my FAV!!) and I’m looking around the house for some inspiration for my blog today. The tv? No. The sound dock? No. The dishes in the sink? Definitely no!! What about all the crafts that are scattered around the house? Hmmm, I think I could work with that! So here we go, entry number two. Let’s talk about crafts baybee!!

Contrary to what people say (more like my family πŸ˜‰) I am not crafty. Oh I wish I was but in reality I’m just not that good. But have pity on me (no really, don’t!) I am a victim of Pinterest. Yes, Pinterest. The most addicting invention that has yet to be created. It sucks you in with its ease of use and makes you waste countless hours on your phone, tablet, or whatever device you use, to scroll through just looking at things, trying to find the bottom (has anyone ever found the bottom??) of the page! Say what?! Yes, just scrolling and looking. Recipes, fashion, gift ideas, inspirational quotes and on and on and on aaaaaand on! I honestly don’t know what you couldn’t find on Pinterest! So throughout the day I open my app just for a quick look and before I know it, I’ve wasted 30 minutes, 60, 90, and I’ll just say I stop there! πŸ˜‰ Is it just me?? Or have you fallen victim too? So during my time of scrolling and looking I come across the craft section! Ahhhhhhh! Crafts! (Say that in your best church choir voice!) Wow look at this, oh I could so do that, that looks easy – all these thoughts flash through my mind! So I click on the link and hope it works (I hate when it doesn’t) and alas I see if it’s feasible for me to do, and if it is (or I think it is) I write up my little craft list and head to the store. Sometimes the crafts turn out great, other times not so much! I’ve heard there is even a gal that has a whole blog/website about her Pinterest fails! That’s my kinda gal!!

I’ve recently been selling my Pinterest inspired crafts at bazaars so that is why my crafts are scattered everywhere! If you know me and my ocd-ness you’ll know how much these little messes are secretly driving me crazy! I’m thankful that my hubby supports me in all my wacky endeavors though and doesn’t mind the messes, or at least doesn’t mention it. Soon enough the shows will be done and the house will be clean yet again.

So where am I going with this? I have no idea, I’m just “talking”. Remember yesterday’s post, I’m a talker not a writer! 😁 But I have to know, have you fallen victim (as I like to call it) to the ways of Pinterest? Are you crafty? What do you enjoy making? Comment and let me know! Yesterday I said “Comment below” and the comment button was actually at the top of the blog. So since I’m new to this, I haven’t a clue if the button will be at the top or bottom, or even there, so bear with me and please leave a comment! Somewhere! 😜

Although I might not be the best at crafting, or many things for that matter, I rest assured knowing that God has created me just the way I am! Psalm 139:13-14 says – For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (NIV) Read Psalm 139 in its entirety today and rest in knowing that no matter what your skills are (or aren’t) you are an amazing creation of God!

Blessings πŸ’› Sarah

  1. Haha Pinterest….I am on Pinterest so much and I’m always showing my husband things. He now will actually utter those special words which melt my heart …. ‘ I saw this on Pinterest’ 😍. ( true story…he has uttered those words more than a few times!!)

  2. You hit that one on the nail! I’ve started so many pinterest folders, like for my daughter’s 7th birthday party: in May, or my wedding photos: next August, food to try…hopefully one day. The only time I’ve found the bottom is when you put in too many words like: Orange gray tuxedos wedding. πŸ™‚ I enjoyed this blog as well.
